The Team

Two minds, different wiring, same hard problem.

Strivepoint was built by two investors who could not find a fund that thought the way they did. So they built one.

Sambodhi Sarkar
Sambodhi Sarkar
Founder & Co-CIO

Sambodhi brings a rare combination of buy-side discipline and investigative depth to the investment process. As a hedge fund investor at Steinberg Asset Management — a Eurekahedge Best Indian Hedge Fund — he developed a rigorous framework for identifying mispriced growth shaped by years of direct exposure to portfolio construction at the highest level.

Before that, as Senior Engagement Manager at McKinsey's private equity practice — promoted ahead of peers — he built a holistic understanding of businesses: competitive dynamics, management quality, and long-duration value creation, not just financial model output. He began his career advising clients across South-East Asia at Deutsche Bank. Since 2018, he has generated ~25% annualized returns on personal capital against roughly 15% for the broader market over the same period.

Akshay Rao
Akshay Rao
Founder & Co-CIO

Akshay's edge is in seeing what businesses are becoming before the market prices it. At McKinsey, he led diligence, value creation, and top-of-house strategy — assessing acquisition targets totaling more than $25B in value. As a core member of McKinsey's business-building practice, he led zero-to-one new business creation for consumer and consumer-health clients across growth strategy and digital buildouts.

Extensive experience as an operator at growth-stage startups gives him a practitioner's feel for which companies can truly execute. He brings behavioral-finance fluency to portfolio construction: not just what the numbers say, but why consensus is reading them wrong. His investing approach is shaped by a conviction that durable alpha comes from seeing trajectory gaps that consensus frameworks are structurally unable to see.

"We didn't leave established firms to build Strivepoint. We went looking for a firm that matched how we thought — and did not find it."

Entrepreneurial thinking isn't about taking more risk; it's about recognizing opportunity structures others walk past — and having the conviction to act before consensus catches up. That same instinct shapes how they invest.

They started with their own capital, committed on Day 1 — before asking anyone else for a dollar.

Skin in the Game
~$600K of personal capital committed alongside our investors — before asking anyone else.

Alignment isn't a talking point at Strivepoint. That capital sits in the same positions as every LP. The conviction we apply to our portfolio is the same conviction we applied to building the firm.

Who we're built for

Strivepoint is built as a genuine partnership.

We're looking for partners who are engaged with how we think, not just what we return — people who see their capital as part of something being built, not simply deployed.
